The B.A. in Humanities, Society and Culture (Major) program delivers a broad curriculum that develops critical and informed thinking about the world’s humanitarian issues today and for the future. You will learn the principles, concepts, and theories behind modern social issues and democratic transformations.
This program examines modern societies with a range of practical and academic methods in the social sciences and humanities, including philosophy, cultural anthropology, history, the arts, literature, and film studies. You are guided by an international faculty of specialists through modern social theory and intellectual histories.

Beyond the classroom, you can also join student clubs like Model UN and Film Club, discuss current political issues with professors and local experts at an event like ‘Professors in the Pub’ or stop by one of our movie nights or poetry readings in the Library featuring professors and internationally published authors.

The Bachelor’s degree awarded is concurrently recognized as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in the United States, per AAU’s accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission, and as a Bakalá (Bc.) in the Czech Republic, per AAU’s accreditation by the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education (NABHE). Graduates may select whether to use the U.S. post-nominal or the Czech pre-nominal title.
